So... I’m moving to DE to be a LOT closer to Amanda and to start a newish job. I’m actually transferring within the company, but their style is a little different from the way we run things here, but I’m looking forward to it! I’ll also be a lot closer to Leslie, Dave, and the kids.

I just had my interview with them this past Tuesday and by this Saturday I’ll be working for them! I’m still looking for a place and have a few options lined up, but it’s getting to crunch time and I’m getting a little stressed, but it’s wicked exciting and a ton of fun!

I hope that everyone here in MA has had a great time when I was here, because it was amazing to meet so many new people and spend some real quality time with so many old friends.

The decision to move was pretty easy, Amanda and I had been discussing it for a while and all of a sudden, out of the blue, here I am about to change my whole life around (hopefully for the better!) and I have no regrets about it.

I’ll be in and out here for a while just because of how tough it is to maintain any sense of a routine with the move!

I’ll certainly be updating the site with the info from DE in the next couple of weeks! Be on the look-out...

DENVER -- A controversial billboard will likely be popping up in a neighborhood near you, just in time for the holidays.

The billboard is paid for by a Colorado atheist group. The message sits against a blue sky backdrop and says, "Don't believe in God? You're not alone."

Ten billboards will pepper metro Denver, while one will be put up in Colorado Springs.

"And we're putting them up in November and December because of the holidays, when church and state issues tend to come up a lot," said Joel Guttormson, with Metro State Atheists. "To let non-believers, free-thinkers and atheists know that they are not alone, especially in a country like ours that is predominantly Christian."

Pastor Willard Johnson of Denver's Macedonia Baptist Church called the billboards a desperate effort to discredit Christianity.

"The Bible is being fulfilled. It says that in latter days, you have all these kinds of things coming up, trying to disrupt the validity of Christianity," Johnson said. "If they don't believe in God, how do they believe they came about? We denounce what they are doing. But we do it with love, with gentleness, with decency and with compassion."

Bob Enyart, a Christian radio host and spokesman for American Right to Life, said it's hard to ignore the evidence.

"The Bible says that faith is the evidence of things not seen. Evidence. If we ignore the evidence for gravity or the Creator, that's really dangerous," said Enyart. "Income tax doesn't not exist because somebody doesn't believe in it. And the same is true with our Creator."

The billboards will go up Nov. 17. The atheist group, called Colorado Coalition of Reason or COCORE, also wanted to put up signs in Fort Collins and Greeley, but a billboard company there refused to carry the message.

Johnson said atheism is a rebellion against Biblical principals and the billboard will likely offend many Christians.

COCORE said this is about First Amendment rights.

"And I've read the First Amendment up and down and nowhere does it say that I have to care about your feelings. We're either 10 to 16 percent of the population, and the reason we don't really know is because people are scared to come out because they're ostracized by the people around them," said Guttormson.

Copyright 2008 by TheDenverChannel.com.
Soxtober Part II

Okay, so my last assumption about the Sox may have been a little early. Down yet again 3-1, I don’t see them making another historic comeback. In 2004 and in 2007 they at least had the pitching to keep up with the other team. This year they are too hurt to come back. In the last 3 games they have given up over 30 runs! That is unheard of in the playoffs! Their only glimmer of hope is tonight. Daisuke Matsuzaka is facing, not James Shields like we’d expected, but rather Scott Kazmir. Manager, Joe Maddon has hinted that his team isn’t good enough to beat Matsuzaka - almost as if they’re saving Shields for game 6. So this unexpected “playing not to lose” could end up being the Rays down fall.

If the series does in fact move to game 6, look for Sox Manager, Terry Francona to start John Lester instead of the ailing Josh Beckett. I’m no sports writer, but this is how I see it coming down:

Tonight: Sox win 6-3 and Tampa takes the game a little too lightly.

Game 6: Its a close one, Tampa’s Shields is their Ace so it should be close. Lester is Boston’s Ace this season with Beckett injured so I’ll predict a close game, 6-5 Tampa.

Game 7: This is in a very unlikely situation, but all the stops are pulled for both teams. If it does in fact make it this far - look for the Sox to be heading back to the Fall Classic!

So... The Sox are doing it again! Looks like they’re just about ready to book their trip to the ALCS for the 4th time in 6 years! Hopefully Becket can be as dominating as he’s been known to be! All year long the Angels were completely obliterating the Sox - both their pitching and batting were way too good for Boston and it showed by Anaheim winning 8 of 9 games!

That being said... the Sox have won 11 straight against the Angels in the playoffs (a new Major League record, previously held at 10 by the A’s over the Sox) and if they win again on Sunday night - it will mark the first time any team has swept another team 3 straight times in the post season!

It’s looking good for the sox! In other news, my fantasy football team is struggling at 2-2. I’m barely winning my games and scoring an average of about 70 points per game. This will only last for a period of time - otherwise I might be sinking or rather, being flushed, straight down the drain and into the dreaded, Toilet Bowl!

So I just got back from DE and I had a GREAT trip! Amanda and I had a ton of fun doing a bunch of NOTHING! We basically watched a bunch of movies and I got to spend some really good quality time with her and her family. This was something that we both really needed and wanted. Sometimes our relationship can be difficult being so far away from each other, but we make the best of it and I love her so much! One day we will be closer together and life will be awesome for the both of us!

This Friday night is our Fantasy Football draft and I can’t wait! I’m going to have such a good year this year! (I Hope!) Well - there hasn’t been too much going on besides the trip. I’ll be posting more in the weeks to come!
