This piece was mainly gouache and was a revelation to my artistic side. To date my favorite piece. This work shows the honesty in children and the love they have that is untainted. We all have an inner child with these feelings and we need to show it more often. Dogs are a man's best friend, but everyone has love for something and the dog is representing the things we most cherish and care for most from family to friends, objects, or other. Compassion is something shown in the image as the boy holds the puppy and cares for its well-being. In hindsight we all wish we had hung onto something a little tighter.
